Program Overview

Fuzz Box Productions and Hisako Film Lab are offering an afterschool film camp for high school students, sponsored by the County of Maui. The camp will take place at the Fuzz Box headquarters in Lahaina where small teams will each be tasked with writing and producing an original short film that will premiere at a special red-carpet screening.

Program runs Nov 11 - Dec 17, meeting every Tues & Wed from 2:30pm - 5:00pm. Students should also plan for additional filming days scheduled independently within teams.

Eligibility: Age, Experience

Students currently in grades 9-12 are eligible to apply. Applicants will ideally have some familiarity with camera operation and editing software. However, serious applicants with less filmmaking experience are welcome to apply! Open to Maui residents only.

Application/Acceptance Process

Acceptance to the program is on a selective basis. Not everyone who applies will be invited to participate. After submitting an application, students will be contacted for a brief interview. Acceptance status will be announced through an email to applicants.

$0 Cost, Attendance

• Participating in the program is absolutely FREE.

• Attendance is mandatory for all class sessions and any additional team filming days. Before applying, review the program schedule to determine your availability to participate. Please notify instructors ahead of time for any scheduling conflicts you foresee.

Premiere Party!

Students will premiere their films at a special red carpet screening night open to the public! More details to be announced.
